About the Role

Theyre expanding the customers and internal platform and are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (TypeScript) to help build the foundation of Renews backend and data systems. The role will focus on platform development using Supabase TypeScript and modern web frameworks enabling robust data pipelines operations automation and API integrations that support Renews growing applications.

Youll have an opportunity to help architect the backend and data foundations of a fastgrowing climate startup and have eligibility for equity participation.

Working hours aligned with EU/UK time zones.

Responsibilities:

• Design build and extend backend systems using Supabase leveraging database auth and edge function capabilities.

• Develop and maintain TypeScriptbased APIs and integrations that underpin renews platform and data services.

• Collaborate with frontend developers to deliver endtoend features and performant userfacing experiences.

• Contribute to the evolution of renews internal automation tools and data pipeline implementations.

• Work closely with product data and AI teams on new integrations from analytics and forecasting to blockchainenabled features.

• Ensure reliability performance and scalability while maintaining lightweight maintainable systems.

Essential knowledge skills & experience:

• 5 years of professional experience in fullstack or backend development with strong proficiency in TypeScript.

• Practical experience with Supabase.

• Solid understanding of API design database schema design and serverless architecture patterns.

• Ability to contribute across the stack from backend logic and data modeling to key frontend integrations.

• Experience working independently in agile distributed teams.

Nice-to-have

• Familiarity with AI or ML integrations at the application level.

• Knowledge of blockchain digital asset verification or sustainability data systems.

• Experience with data visualization analytics tools or geospatial data.
