Job Summary

PhD in anthropology; or research and/or professional experience in anthropology or related fields. 2. Demonstrated success in student outcomes and positive student experiences in courses taught at the community college level. 3. Demonstrated success innovation and confidence in teaching and designing online courses including experience with a variety of instructional technologies. 4. Experience teaching courses in biological anthropology archaeology and cultural anthropology at the college or university level. 5. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with all faculty including collaboration in department projects and activities outside of the classroom. 6. Commitment to effective innovative and accessible pedagogical approaches including experiential hands-on learning connecting lessons locally and the use of multiple modalities to engage a variety of student learning styles. 7. Commitment to examine reflect and modify instructional relational classroom practices to more effectively engage and support disproportionately impacted student populations with a goal of closing equity gaps (see Student Equity website at ). 8. Ability to contribute to the mission of the college.

Minimum Qualifications
To be eligible for this position you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications: 1. Masters degree in anthropology; or archaeology or biological anthropology or physical anthropology or cultural anthropology or sociocultural anthropology; OR 2. Bachelors degree in anthropology AND Masters degree in biology evolutionary biology primatology cultural resource management or forensic science; OR 3. The equivalent. Applicants who do not possess the EXACT degree major(s) required to meet the minimum qualifications must attach an equivalency narrative and supporting documentation at the time of application. Instructions can be found at committee/docs/; OR 4. a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College credential authorizing instruction/service in the appropriate subject matter; AND 5. demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students faculty and staff.
