Required Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors Degree plus one (1) year of professional experience with children and families;
Professional experience in mentoring teaching or training.
Preferred Education and/or Experience:
Masters Degree in Social Work or related field;
Professional Experience with child maltreatment assessments;
Experience and training in curriculum development and training delivery;
Experience presenting to large groups.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Training:
Provide statewide training of DCFS contracted training initiatives for identified DCFS staff and stakeholders;
Provide coaching of Safety Organized Practice when requested;
Provide coaching of newly hired Social Services Specialists assigned to
an Investigations or Differential Response Unit in the applicable DCFS
area;
Provide SOP office hours as requested by DCFS;
Attend Training of Trainers DCFS mandatory trainings and continuing education workshops when relevant to the position.
Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with MidSOUTH training staff DCFS staff University Partnership staff and other stakeholders;
Engage in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities (e.g. case readings) as requested by DCFS to ensure fidelity to the SOP practice model;
Attend quarterly Regional Team Meetings to discuss DCFS initiatives and training when requested;
Attend quarterly academic partnership meetings;
Participate in DCFS workgroups when requested.
Record Keeping and Maintenance:
Maintain a monthly record of training activities and staff/university partnership contacts;
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills & Abilities:
Ability to travel extensively in the state which will include overnight stays;
Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include nights and weekends;
Possess exemplary public speaking and interpersonal skills;
Ability to use customer service initiatives for clients and the campus community;
Ability to work independently;
Ability to meet multiple program deadlines and manage multiple tasks;
Experience using Microsoft Office;
Possess a valid drivers license and dependable transportation;
Ability to maintain a monthly record of contacts;
Knowledge of the Arkansas Child Welfare System;
Ability to train others.
