Dolby Careers (Senior) Software QA Engineer, Video [mfd]

The Dolby Imaging team in Berlin develops advanced algorithms and software powering Dolbys nextgeneration media processing technologies. As a Software QA Engineer you will help ensure the quality and reliability of video processing algorithms and related software components. You will work closely with developers researchers and product teams to execute test strategies build automated tests and validate system behavior across the imaging pipeline.

Our team is expanding and we are seeking both a Mid-Level Engineer and a Senior Engineer to join us.

Job Functions:

Implement and maintain test cases test plans and automated test scripts for media processing and videorelated software components.

Collaborate with software developers to understand features clarify requirements and identify test scenarios.

Execute functional regression performance and integration testing activities.

Investigate software issues by analyzing logs debugging failures and performing preliminary rootcause analysis before escalation.

Contribute to automated testing workflows including scripting and test infrastructure support.

Validate video processing algorithms using defined metrics and guidelines.

Support integration testing with internal teams and help ensure stable software releases.

Participate in planning discussions and provide qualityfocused input during development cycles.

Requirements:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Science or a related field.

Minimum 3 years of experience in software QA automation or testing preferably in multimedia video imaging or embedded systems.

Understanding of video processing concepts digital media formats or similar technical domains.

Experience writing test scripts or automation tools using Python (or similar scripting languages).

Familiarity with working in C/Coriented environments and testing compiled software components.

Basic understanding of CI/CD systems software development workflows and quality engineering practices.

Strong communication skills in English with the ability to document test results clearly.

Qualifications:

Exposure to QA frameworks and tools used in multimedia or embedded software testing.

Familiarity with CMake GCC/Clang MS Visual Studio/VS Code or debugging utilities.

Basic experience with performance analysis or benchmarking tools.

Knowledge of video/image quality metrics (e.g. PSNR SSIM VMAF) is a plus.

Experience collaborating in cross-functional engineering teams.
