The TU/e Built Environment chair of Smart Architectural Technologies is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to study smart living solutions and collaborate in different research projects with external stakeholders.
The chair of Smart Architectural Technologies at TU/e Built Environment seeks a postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary team on the nationally funded projects. These projects are dedicated to improving the overall health and well-being of older individuals in long-term care settings with a focus on resilience vulnerability management and technology acceptance. This role is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of innovative healthcare decision-making frameworks making a direct impact on policy and shaping the future of built environments for healthcare.
The selected candidate will play an active role in gathering data and analyzing the interaction dynamics within long-term care facilities assessing how living and organizational environments affect health care provision and social contact. This includes exploring the effectiveness of technological interventions for future long-term care facilities. Collaboration with consortium partners including researchers from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam care institutions and housing cooperatives is a key aspect of this position.
Desirable skills
Experience with fieldwork in long-term care settings and an empathetic approach to engaging with older individuals and caregivers. Knowledge of smart architectural technologies and their application in improving care and living conditions for long-term care populations. Ability to critically analyze and evaluate building functionality and usability with a focus on healthcare delivery and resident interactions.
