Commercial Insurance Account Manager (Department Manager in Training)
Job Summary
Seeking a dedicated and experienced Commercial Insurance Account Manager to join a team. This role offers a unique opportunity to transition into a Department Manager position by 2027 following a comprehensive 12-month training period. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in servicing a book of business managing high-profile accounts and leading a team of three professionals. This position is ideal for a motivated individual with a strong background in commercial insurance and a passion for leadership.
Compensation Package
- Salary: $65000 - $75000 starting range with potential for an increase upon transitioning to the Department Manager role (based on experience).

Responsibilities
- Service and manage a mid-sized generalist commercial book of business.
- Quote new and renewal business as required.
- Undergo a structured 12-month training program to transition into the Department Manager role.
- Lead and manage a team of three professionals starting in 2027.
- Continue managing a small portfolio of high-profile accounts while overseeing the department.
- Collaborate with the current Department Manager during the training period to ensure a seamless transition.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: Property & Casualty (P&C) license required.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in commercial insurance.
- Leadership experience or project management experience is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with AMS360 software is preferred but not required.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong leadership potential and a desire to manage a team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while fostering a team-oriented environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
