Job Summary:
This position performs MRI procedures ensuring patient safety accurate imaging and quality control. Responsibilities include patient screening positioning operating MRI equipment maintaining a safe and clean environment and documenting procedures in the EMR.
Job Responsibilities:
- Interviews patient prior to MRI procedure for MRI safety prior to performance of the procedure.
- Ensures patient safety including correctly identifying every patient using approved two (2) patient identifiers at every point of contact in the MRI suite.
- Explains the MRI process and instructs patient on the procedure to obtain optimal imaging diagnostic results; answers all related questions and responds to patients needs or concerns as required.
- Safely sets-up operates and adjusts MRI equipment selecting proper technical factors to obtain accurate MRI studies; selects software options and imaging parameters when adjusting an MRI machine; returns equipment to its original location after each scan.
- Ensures safety for patients operator and visitors within magnetic field zone four (4).
- Prepares patient for radiological procedure by safely positioning patient for MRI scans adjusting immobilization devices moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors; monitors patient during scanning.
- Ensures that MRI rooms are clean organized and safe for MRI examinations; cleans MRI scanners after each patient proper-functioning imaging equipment and performs image quality and calibration tests on equipment as necessary; reports any malfunction to appropriate staff.
- Maintains Imaging supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level and anticipating needed supplies.
- Evaluates images for technical quality and accuracy ensuring proper identification of all images is recorded and presents completed images to Radiologist.
- Effectively uses electronic medical records (EMR) to document patient encounters and access pertinent patient data and imaging results; keeps other detailed and accurate patient records and results.
- Keeps detailed and accurate patient records and results.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience: - -One (1) year of MRI experience Relevant Equipment.
