Job Summary
System Engineer
Oxnard CA 5x a week M-F
6 Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced systems engineer with deep technical expertise in server virtualization and storage infrastructure. This role is pivotal in ensuring stability performance and security including physical and virtual servers backup and recovery processes storage networks and enterprise-level system monitoring.
As a systems engineer you will architect implement maintain and troubleshoot a wide array of technologies with a focus on reliability and long-term sustainability. This is a hands-on role requiring broad infrastructure knowledge and the ability to lead complex projects in a municipal environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design implement and manage Windows Server and virtualization platforms.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Active Directory including GPOs and replication.
- Oversee the lifecycle of physical and virtual servers (VMware Hyper-V).
- Manage NAS/SAN storage systems ensuring reliability and performance.
- Execute backup and disaster recovery plans.
- Create and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and efficiency.
- Lead OS and application patching with compliance tracking.
- Manage digital certificates and apply security updates.
- Monitor system health and performance using enterprise tools.
- Deliver Tier 3 supports complex infrastructure issues.
What You Will Need
- Deep expertise in daily ops troubleshooting and architectural design.
- Hands-on with configuring repairing and managing physical and virtual systems.
- In-depth knowledge of system internals and enterprise-level configurations.
- Demonstrated success in deploying and maintaining enterprise backup systems.
- Experienced in designing patch workflows and addressing security gaps.
- Skilled in issuing renewing and administering digital certs.
- Proficient in setting up fine-tuning platforms like Nagios PRTG etc.
- Capable of documenting and executing upgrade paths for hardware and software.
- Advanced scripting for automation and complex system tasks.
- I specialized in managing vSphere environments end-to-end.
- Knowledgeable in RAID data migration and scaling NAS/SAN storage.
- Solid grasp of iSCSI Fiber Channel and related protocols.
Nice to Have
- Proficient in admin tasks patching and scripting in Linux environments.
- Skilled in managing secure SFTP/FTP solutions.
- Hands-on with configuring and troubleshooting IIS and Apache.
- Experience with AWS Azure and hybrid infrastructure setups.
- Knowledge of VDI environments including Horizon Client.
- Practical experience with Microsoft virtualization technologies.
- Capable of designing resilient high-availability systems.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Skilled at juggling priorities in dynamic settings.
- Clear communicator with solid documentation habits.
- Independent and team-oriented with a proactive mindset.
