Job Summary
The Role - Chief Engineer
As Chief Engineer you will lead the Engineering division with vision and precision - ensuring the hotels infrastructure safety and performance meet the highest standards of luxury hospitality. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for strategic planning compliance and the seamless operation of all building systems while fostering a culture of safety accountability and continuous improvement.
You will
- Oversee the maintenance and performance of all building systems including HVAC electrical plumbing mechanical and life-safety
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) program to minimise downtime
- Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety legislation Building Regulations and statutory testing requirements
- Manage the Engineering budget including cost control forecasting and CAPEX planning
- Lead vendor sourcing contract management and procurement to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness
- Oversee refurbishment upgrade and sustainability projects aligned with ESG goals
- Maintain accurate records for all plant equipment and statutory documentation
- Train mentor and develop the Engineering team promoting a culture of excellence and safety
- Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives to reduce costs and environmental impact
- Collaborate with senior leadership to deliver strategic objectives and uphold Nobu brand standards
- Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure continuity of service at all times
- Continuously identify and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and guest experience
- Perform any other duties required to support the smooth operation of the hotel
