PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Philanthropy Project Manager is responsible for successfully managing key fundraising initiatives as well as strategic processes that help the philanthropy team identify cultivate and steward donors. This position will also manage a portfolio of mid-level passive or major gift donors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as relationship building skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects with minimal supervision be goal oriented well organized and able to meet deadlines while working in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative team member within our fundraising program supporting department goals
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of constituent relationship management (CRM) software a plus
Experience:
- Two years developing relationships managing projects executing strong communications pieces and achieving organizational objectives
- Knowledge of fundraising principles and best practices in fund development are preferred
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage logistics of key fundraising moves management and other initiatives including:
- Create strategy and plan; execute fundraising initiative in some cases
- Meet fundraising goals/targets established and report ROI
- Work with Marketing and Communications team to create promotional materials
- Engage NTFB constituents as part of the qualification and discovery process
- Support the philanthropy team by managing day-to-day tasks which may include:
- Prepare thank you letters newsletters impact reports proposals and other cultivation and stewardship materials; manage calendars
- Create proposals and meeting materials or online donor education informational sessions
- Enter donor interactions and opportunities in RENXT
- Assist with donor requests scheduling and creating volunteer shifts for VIP donors
- Assist in pipeline development process
- Assist with tour requests and other stewardship activities at the Perot Family Campus
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure needs for annual fundraising events and campaigns are met
- Identify new funding opportunities and assist with creating and implementing a strategy
- Participate in external speaking engagements to create brand awareness and build the NTFB brand within the community
- Perform other functions and duties as assigned
MENTAL DEMANDS:
- The person in this position needs to adapt well in the face of workplace stressors such as customer complaints maintaining the security of people and property completing priorities of reasonable or high significance to the successful function of the unit.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand; sit; use hands to finger handle or feel objects tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop kneel crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
- Moderate noise (i.e. business office with open floor plan with computers phone printers light traffic).
- Able to participate in events outside the traditional workday schedule on occasional evenings and weekends
