SEA LIFE Kelly Tarltons Auckland is on the lookout for a Full-Time Assistant Penguin Keeper to join our incredible animal care team! About the Role

As a Penguin Keeper you will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day care and management of our Gentoo and King Penguins their exhibit and life support system.

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

Providing a suitable environment for our penguins which offers excellent welfare.
Meeting all husbandry requirements of the penguins including cleaning animal training enrichment dietary veterinary and breeding requirements.
Observation and maintaining a high standard of record keeping.
Conducting feeding presentations and educational talks to visitors as required.
Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

About You

The ideal candidate for this role will be passionate about and have an understanding of animals and will display commitment loyalty and a strong work ethic. Animal husbandry experience/ knowledge is essential in addition to physical fitness as some heavy lifting will be involved. You will be working within a small team environment so excellent interpersonal skills open-mindedness and a willingness to accept new ideas and perspectives is necessary.
