Head of Sales Building Products / Construction

Overview
We are partnering with a fast-growing private business in the construction sector to recruit a Head of Sales. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth leading sales teams expanding into new markets and shaping long-term commercial strategy.
This is a highly hands-on position suited to a commercially astute leader with deep sector knowledge and a track record of delivering growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead mentor and develop high-performing sales teams
- Define and execute sales strategies pricing models and customer plans
- Drive revenue margin and profitability targets across the business
- Identify and develop new markets both domestically and internationally
- Explore and introduce new products and services aligned to market demand
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and strategic partners
- Oversee key account management and long-term customer retention
- Manage escalated customer issues and ensure timely resolution
- Deliver accurate sales forecasting reporting and performance analysis
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing Supply Chain Quality and Finance
- Present sales performance updates and strategic recommendations to senior leadership
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a senior commercial or sales leadership role within Building Products
- Strong exposure to Builders Merchants and construction supply channels
- Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution
- Strong financial acumen including budgeting forecasting and P&L management
- High level of commercial awareness and market insight
- Proficient in Excel and Office 365; CRM experience (e.g. Salesforce) is advantageous
