About the role
Were looking for experienced software engineers to join our Web Product team which owns the core experiencethe primary way millions of people interact with Claude every day. This is where the future of human-AI collaboration takes shape.
Our team is responsible for transforming Claude from a chat interface into a true virtual collaborator: an AI that remembers context takes action on your behalf and works alongside you across your digital life. Were building the foundation for how people will work with AI for years to come.
Youll work across the full stack to design and ship features that make Claude more capable intuitive and trustworthy. This means building new interaction paradigms integrating Claude with external tools and services and creating experiences that feel less like using software and more like working with a thoughtful partner.
Responsibilities:
- Build and ship core features of that define how millions of users interact with AI daily
- Design and implement new interaction models that expand whats possible in human-AI collaboration
- Work across the stackfrom React frontends to Python or Go servicesto deliver complete polished experiences
- Collaborate closely with product design and research teams to translate cutting-edge model capabilities into intuitive user experiences
- Iterate rapidly based on user feedback and data to evolve features from early prototypes to scaled production systems
- Develop APIs and platform capabilities that enable Claude to connect with users tools and workflows
- Contribute to the technical and product vision for how Claude evolves as a collaborative AI assistant
You may be a good fit if you:
- Have 5 years of experience as a full-stack software engineer with strong skills in both frontend and backend development
- Have a track record of building 0-to-1 productstaking ideas from concept through launch and iteration to find market fit
- Excel at cross-functional collaboration with product design and research partners
- Are comfortable with ambiguity and can make good decisions without perfect information
- Communicate clearly and can translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders
- Care about craftyou sweat the details that make products feel great to use
Strong candidates may have:
- Experience building AI-powered products or working with large language models
- Background in building collaborative tools or productivity software
- Design sensibility and experience partnering closely with designers on interaction patterns
- Experience with service-oriented architectures and API design
- Familiarity with modern web development stacks (React TypeScript Python )
The expectedbase compensation for this position is below. Our total compensation package for full-time employees includes equity benefits and may include incentive compensation.
Annual Salary:
$320000 - $405000 USD
Logistics
Education requirements: We require at least a Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
Location-based hybrid policy: Currently we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However some roles may require more time in our offices.
Visa sponsorship:We do sponsor visas! However we arent able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this.

As such we greatly value communication skills.
