About the role:

As a Research & Machine Learning Engineer you will push the boundaries of AI in life sciences and help build the worlds leading Agentic AI product for biomedical researchers. You will design train and integrate cutting-edge models and computations that go beyond language spanning biological and multimodal data such as histology slides spatial transcriptomics clinical variables and even physics & chemistry modalities.

Youll balance applied research with practical engineering shaping the intelligence behind a real-time system that empowers scientists to generate hypotheses analyze data and accelerate discovery. If youre excited about bringing advanced AI to complex high-impact biological and chemical problems this role is for you.

Your expertise will be instrumental in selecting and developing the right models designing reliable evaluation strategies and exploring innovative ways to apply AI across diverse life sciences data.

In particular you will:

Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team of product managers designers software engineers and biomedical scientists.
Research design and build machine learning models tailored to complex biological and chemical datasets.
Explore and integrate LLMs multimodal models and domain-specific architectures (e.g. vision models for pathology DNA-based and protein language models molecular structure neural networks).
Prototype and evaluate approaches for fine-tuning prompt engineering retrieval-augmented generation and reinforcement learning with human or programmatic feedback.
Establish robust evaluation and monitoring methodologies to ensure model performance reliability and interpretability in production.
Translate state-of-the-art research into practical solutions balancing scientific depth with product impact.
Contribute to the broader technical vision and mentor teammates in ML best practices.

About you

Strong scientific curiosity and creativity with an applied mindset.
Proven experience in machine learning research and development (academic or industrial).
Solid understanding of deep learning architectures (transformers diffusion models vision models graph neural networks etc.).
Experience working with large and/or multimodal datasets ideally in biomedical or chemistry or life sciences domain.
Familiarity with LLM fine-tuning evaluation or RLHF is a plus.
Strong programming skills (Python PyTorch or TensorFlow).
Experience bringing ML models to production or collaborating closely with engineers.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Fluent English both written and spoken.
