Horizons at Episcopal Academy Student Wellness Coordinator

The Position

Horizons at The Episcopal Academy (HEA) seeks a dedicated and enthusiastic Student Wellness Coordinator to support the health safety and well-being of students. This summer position runs from June 22July 30 2026 and is ideal for a flexible organized and caring professional who fosters a safe inclusive and supportive learning environment. Horizons encourages staff to return for multiple summers to help strengthen the program and community.

Key Responsibilities

Before the Summer Program:

  • Attend orientation and professional development sessions.
  • Ensure First-Aid kit inventory is stocked and maintained.
  • Collect medical forms and action plans for students with health conditions.

During the Summer Program:

  • Review health forms allergies and medical conditions on student rosters.
  • Accept store and administer prescription and over-the-counter medications.
  • Treat injuries and illnesses completing incident reports as needed.
  • Communicate health concerns injuries or illnesses to parents/guardians the Program Manager and staff.
  • Inform the Program Manager of any concerns regarding student or staff health and safety.
  • Collaborate with fellow summer staff on daily responsibilities.
  • Organize and maintain health forms medication logs and communication records.Serve as a positive role model for students and staff.
  • Professionally interact with students families peers leadership and the broader campus community.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of all required state and federal clearances; CPR/AED certification required.
  • Commitment to Horizons mission and educational equity.
  • Knowledge of best practices in student health safety and wellness; practical experience preferred.
  • Flexibility strong organization initiative and enthusiasm for working with children.
  • Ability to relate to children and families from diverse racial cultural religious and neurodiverse backgrounds.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal growth self-reflection and understanding systemic impacts on students and families.

HEA is a community-centered education program serving students from the Greater Philadelphia area. HEA advances educational equity through long-term partnerships with students families schools and communities. Its core offering is a six-week summer enrichment program on Episcopal Academys campus complemented by a growing school-year program that includes tutoring community service and cultural programming. HEA is part of a national network of more than 70 Horizons programs across the country.
