Job Summary

Job Description

The product is an online booking tool (OBT) as well as an expense tool for business travel through a SaaS deployment.

It allows a user to search and book a business trip in a user friendly and high-performance web application. It gives him access to different transport modes and travel suppliers within the travel policy set by his company.

It then gives them the opportunity to claim additional expenses for reimbursement. This includes expenses captured from credit card statements OCR of receipts and manually entered claims. The service allows for capturing VAT computing policies and reimbursement rules and much more.

Key to the inner workings of those services is the configuration of the service. This foundation allows among other things ability to the administrator to configure them a rich set of company rules and synchronize inbound and outbound information with external systems. The large amount of configuration options requires us to improve the simplicity and efficiency of this administration portal improving the efficiency of administrators and the speed to set up a new customer. Also much of that data is either personal or sensitive which means a strong commitment to secure principles and compliance with certifications such as PCI-DSS.

Job Responsibilities

Design and implement software solutions for our web applications
Write automated integration and unit tests
Perform code reviews and pair programming
Monitor the production for unexpected behavior
Contribute to front-end development efforts using VueJS 3 HTML 5 and CSS 3
Contribute to deployment efforts through Docker Ansible and Amazon CDK
Be always up to date with the Backend and UI technology stacks analyze opportunities and propose improvement ideas
Consider performance tuning find bottlenecks and keep a high-quality standard
Work within an Agile development team and ensure stories are delivered within scope and on time

Confirmed experience in development with JavaScript/TypeScript (ideally both)
Knowledge of OO JavaScript including prototypical inheritance classes closures and common application design patterns
Good grasp of HTML5 technologies CSS3 LESS/SASS and responsive web design
Experience in writing unit tests following TDD and mocking libraries either on front-end or back-end (preferably both)
Independent and highly self-motivated with a strong customer focus
Action and results-oriented ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to openly present your own ideas as part of an international team
Fluency in English

Nice to have:

Experience with NoSQL databases (CouchBase DynamoDB Redis and/or MongoDB)
Experience in solving performance issues (profiling query optimization caching)
Experience with Docker
Experience with AWS
Experience with Ansible
Experience with ELK/OpenSearch
