Job Summary

Life Saving Victoria (LSV) is Victorias peak water safety and lifesaving organisation built on the proud traditions and programs of our founding organisations the Royal Life Saving Society Australia and Surf Life Saving Australia.

Lifesaving has been an integral part of the Victorian way of life since 1904. Today LSV is a multifaceted volunteer-based community organisation with a focus on public safety and community wellbeing

Our volunteers members employees and partners work together with communities educational institutions government agencies businesses and the broader aquatic industry to Save lives and empower communities to safely enjoy water.

Multicultural Water Safety Officer

We are super excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our Aquatic Capability and Training as the Multicultural Water Safety this role youll be at the forefront of delivering applying resources and maintaining a range of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) education programs and projects - in particular the delivery of our popular and much needed educational incursions and excursions. You will assist with administration the support of funding applications and the promotion involved in our multicultural training initiatives.

But thats not all! Youll also play a crucial role in enhancing community engagement building strong partnerships with D&I participants their agencies and other stakeholders and exploring exciting new collaboration opportunities. Located at our Port Melbourne Head Office and reporting into the Diversity and Inclusion Delivery Coordinator Outreach this dynamic full-time role will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Leading the delivery of LSVs diverse D&I education programs training courses and mentoring initiatives engaging with various communities.
  • Driving the promotion coordination and smooth administration of LSVs D&I education and swimming lesson programs.
  • Collaborating with community groups and stakeholders to address aquatic education training and employment needs while scouting for future project opportunities.
  • Upholding OHS guidelines and vigilantly identify report and manage hazards and address any injuries near misses or equipment issues promptly.
  • Champion our Equal Opportunity Harassment and Bullying policies ensuring fair and respectful treatment for all.
  • Adhering to LSVs and SLSAs Safeguarding Children and Young People guidelines to ensure a safe environment for young individuals.

Who are you

You are a dynamic professional with a proven track record in delivering engaging education programs to diverse groups. With excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills you excel in customer service and have substantial experience in education aquatic or recreational programs. Your strong organisational and time management abilities enable you to solve problems effectively and make sound decisions under pressure.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and adept at working both independently and collaboratively you thrive in varied environments and adapt easily to regional travel and changing workloads. You bring energy enthusiasm and a knack for developing innovative business cases that drive revenue. A valid Australian Drivers License Working with Children Check and relevant life-saving qualifications are either already in place or on your radar to obtain.

Previous experience as an officer in a sporting educational emergency service or volunteer-based organisation and knowledge of / or interest in water safety lifesaving Life Saving Victoria Surf Life Saving Australia and Royal Life Saving Society Australia is highly regarded
