About the Role
BaptistCare is seeking compassionate and experienced Chaplains to provide person-centred spiritual and pastoral care to aged-care clients living at home and in community settings across Melbournes Eastern Metropolitan region.

This role is available as permanent part-time or potential full-time (minimum 3 days per week) with flexible workdays. You will join a supportive Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care team working alongside clients families carers staff and volunteers from diverse cultural faith and belief backgrounds.

The role involves community travel close collaboration with multidisciplinary care teams and responding to the spiritual and emotional needs of clients and their support networks.

About you
Tertiary qualification in chaplaincy/pastoral care or theological qualifications with willingness to complete chaplaincy training within 12 months
Experience in chaplaincy or pastoral care
Current drivers licence and reliable vehicle (travel reimbursed)
Willingness to undergo a police check

  • Ability to recognise and meet the spiritual and pastoral needs of customers by designingdeliveringand evaluating person-centred spiritual care initiativesin accordance withprofessional codes and standards of conduct
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop andmaintainpositive working relationships with customers and to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Be capable and willing to lead Christian prayers devotions and reflections in a manner that reflectsBaptistCaresChristian identity
  • Ability tofacilitatesafe and welcoming spaces which provide a sense of community and belonging treating all customers with equity respect and dignity
  • Provide spiritual and pastoral care in ways that respect and value diversity e.g. age race faith culture disability gender spirituality and sexuality
  • Ability to manage support and train Pastoral Care Volunteers
  • Demonstrated commitment tomaintainprofessional boundaries and professional spiritual development in line with the Christian faith
  • Demonstrated commitment to self-nurture and self-care
  • Ability to inspire and encourage others to grow in their Christian faith and to embody Christian values in daily life particularly in challenging or complex situations.
  • Capacity to integrate Christian theology and Biblical teaching into pastoral care in a sensitive andappropriate manner
