Position Summary
The Sterile Processing Coordinator plays a critical role in managing loaner and consignment surgical instrumentation within the Sterile Processing Department. This position serves as the primary liaison between vendors clinical partners and SPD staff to ensure accurate tracking timely sterilization and availability of surgical trays while maintaining regulatory compliance and workflow efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for all loaner and consignment tray coordination
Verify tray accuracy completeness and integrity before and after sterilization
Coordinate with vendors clinical partners and internal SPD teams to ensure on-time instrument availability
Track and document tray movement throughout the full sterilization and return lifecycle
Oversee daily production workflow in collaboration with SPD leadership
Identify troubleshoot and resolve workflow delays discrepancies and bottlenecks
Provide guidance and day-to-day oversight to Production Technicians as needed
Act as a liaison between vendors hospitals surgery centers and SPD staff
Ensure accurate data entry within instrument tracking and reporting systems
Generate reports on tray activity volume trends and performance metrics
Maintain documentation standards to support regulatory and compliance requirements
Required Qualifications
35 years of hands-on Sterile Processing (SPD) experience
Strong experience managing loaner and consignment trays
Proficiency with instrument tracking software and reporting tools
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to coordinate across vendors departments and leadership teams
