Registered Nurse (RN) Pulmonary / Medical-Surgical

Role Overview

This position is on a Pulmonary-focused Medical-Surgical unit providing care to adult patients with respiratory illnesses and complex medical conditions. The RN will deliver direct bedside care in a high-volume fast-paced environment collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments each shift

• Monitor patient status and promptly report changes in condition

• Administer medications and prescribed treatments

• Accurately document patient care and outcomes

• Educate patients and families on care plans medications and procedures

• Advocate for patient safety and high-quality outcomes

• Effectively manage time resources and care in a high nurse-to-patient ratio environment

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

• Experience accepted from the following settings:

  • Home Health

  • LTAC

  • Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF)

  • Outpatient Rehabilitation

  • Corrections

• Acute care experience not required

• Active Florida RN license or Compact Multistate RN license

  • Compact RNs must obtain FL license within 60 days if relocating

• Nursing Diploma or ASN required (BSN preferred)

• BLS (AHA) required prior to start

• NIH Stroke Scale certification required within 30 days of hire

• Unit Size: 45 beds

• Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 7:1

• On-Call: None

Compensation & Incentives

Hourly Pay Range (Based on Experience):

• 2 years: $30.69/hr

• 5 years: $33.71/hr

• Up to $43.20/hr (17 years)

Shift Differentials:

• Nights: $4.25/hr

• Weekends: $3.00/hr

Sign-On Bonus:

• $20000 for Night Shift RNs

Relocation Assistance:

• Available on a case-by-case basis

• Typically $2500 $5000

• Must reside 100 miles away
