Job Summary/Description:
WECT is looking for a driven creative news producer who works well with a team of talented professionals to create compelling newscasts. Excellent news judgment superb writing skills and a knack for showcasing stories for the viewer are key. Were looking for a self-starter who has creative writing skills and can handle deadlines while juggling planning producing and occasional digital responsibilities.
Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Produce live newscasts daily
Select stories and determine story order
Write broadcast and digital scripts
Communicate with anchors assignment desk reporters photographers editors and others to ensure execution of a high-quality newscast
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelors degree in journalism or related field preferred equivalent experience considered
Experience as a producer preferred but not required
Ability to work at a high level under tight deadlines
Scheduling flexibility
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent writing showcasing communication and time management skills required
ENPS experience/knowledge preferred but not required
