Job Summary
Position Title:Patient Registrar
Location:Cortlandt Manor NY
Duration:10-Week Contract
Shift:Day Shift 8:00 AM 4:00 PM (30-minute break)
Pay Rate:$18$21 per hour
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking Patient Registrarfor an exciting Travel or Local job in Cortlandt Manor NY.
Key Responsibilities
- Register patients accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Verify insurance coverage benefits and preauthorization requirements.
- Collect and document patient demographics insurance and clinical information.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and hospital policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients staff and clinical departments.
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately.
- Perform clerical duties including data entry filing and keyboarding.
- Collaborate with radiologists nurses and healthcare staff.
- Assist patients with questions and provide quality customer service.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year clerical or administrative experience.
- Knowledge of health insurance benefits and requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with computers keyboards and telephone systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with medical coding (ICD-9 CPT-4).
- Previous experience in hospital radiology or patient access roles.
