About the job

As an Architect at Telavox youll drive the technical vision behind our platform while staying grounded in day-to-day development. Your mission is to define and evolve a scalable resilient API-first architecture that enables our partners and large service providers to build innovative integrated communication services.

Youll collaborate closely with product managers engineers designers and senior leadership to translate high-level vision into practical actionable technical outcomes. Beyond defining architecture youll lead by example by coding regularly guiding teams through hands-on support and showing how good architecture is built in practice.

Your ability to switch seamlessly between strategic tactical and operational perspectives makes you the bridge between long-term vision and real-world execution.

Your day-to-day work may include:

• Developing and maintaining an architectural roadmap for Telavoxs UCaaS platform

• Designing highly scalable secure and resilient systems built on cloud-native principles and microservices

• Leading the API strategy including design governance documentation and lifecycle management

• Partnering with cross-functional teams to turn business needs into technical solutions that scale

• Staying ahead of trends in UCaaS and telecommunications including protocols like SIP RTP and WebRTC

• Evaluating emerging technologies and guiding build vs. buy decisions

• Coding regularly to support teams and ensure architectural direction is grounded in reality

• Mentoring and coaching developers sharing knowledge with patience humility and clarity

• Managing stakeholders across the company aligning technical direction with product and business strategy

About you

Youre a strategic thinker with deep technical expertise and a passion for building large-scale systems but you also believe architecture isnt done in slide decks its done in code. Youve led developers before officially or unofficially and know how to inspire and guide without pulling rank.

Youre humble collaborative and pedagogical someone who brings clarity earns trust and helps others grow.
You move easily between long-term vision tactical planning and operational detail always making sure teams understand what strategy means in practice.

Key skills and experience were looking for:

• Solid experience in software architecture or a technical leadership role (e.g. Lead Engineer) where youve guided other developers hands-on

• Ability to design and evolve distributed high-availability cloud-native architectures in large-scale environments

• Strong background in API-driven and cloud-native systems

• Proficiency in building scalable secure and resilient systems using modern tools (e.g. Docker Kubernetes RabbitMQ SQL/NoSQL)

• Stakeholder management skills able to align perspectives across product tech and business

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to teach mentor and influence

• A hands-on approach where you code regularly and lead by example
