Financial Compliance Lead

To support this mission Syngentas LATAM Syngentas Corporate Finance is seeking a Latam Financial Compliance Lead in Montevideo. This role leads the Continuous Control Monitoring team in Montevideo (Key internal controls testing) and plans and coordinates the Financial Compliance agenda and internal control program for Latam in accordance with local and global and internal financial framework.

Accountabilities:

• Continuously monitor key internal control risks in the Region supporting the Corporate Finance Leads in the Commercial Units. Support risk assessments and controls updates when needed ensuring compliance with global and local requirements and global Compliance agenda.
• Advise on best practices for internal control in response to process changes or new system or process implementations to ensure financial compliance and effectiveness of internal controls. Pre-approve key process changes (operational and SAP security).
• Support regional activities related to financial compliance such as the Letter of Assurance self assessment KRIs (Key risk Indicators) DoA (Delegation of authorities) SoD (Segregation of duties) and critical actions reviews and other global/regional requirements.
• Focal point for internal and external audits related to operational controls. Support Areas ensuring coverage of compliance requirements.
• Provide support to the unit Management/Areas to perform risk assessments ensuring proper controls within special projects or process changes.
• General Financial Compliance knowledge sharings and trainings.

Qualifications :

• Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in financial compliance internal controls risk management and SarbanesOxley (SOX) compliance.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP including report extraction access/security controls and GRC (Governance Risk & Compliance) modules.
• Proven ability to assess and strengthen internal control frameworks identify process/control gaps and design effective mitigation plans.
• Advanced English proficiency both written and spoken to ensure clear communication with international stakeholders.

• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with a challenging risk mindsetable to question assumptions evaluate control effectiveness and propose practical improvements.
• Proactive self-driven individual who takes full ownership of tasks and can work independently.
• Effective influencer with excellent stakeholder-management skills; able to collaborate with cross-functional teams including Global and Pune-based teams.
• Proven experience leading teams or guiding cross-functional groups.
• MBA or equivalent Masters degree is desirable particularly with a focus on Finance Risk Management or Business Administration.
