Position Summary:

Law students perform a variety of duties at CLS depending on their experience level and the needs of theparticular projector office.These duties include client interviews and case investigation drafting of pleadings memoranda and briefs direct representation at administrativehearingsand legal research.

Essential Duties:

  • Assistwith the investigation of applicants legal issues through client interviews documentary reviewresearchand analysis.
  • Additionalduties may include drafting ofadvice letterspleadings memoranda and briefs and legal research.
  • Assistancewith any other tasks necessary to carry out effective representation of clients.

Required Qualifications:

  • Strong commitment to legal issues affectinglow-income individuals
  • Strong interest in research writing and interviewing
  • Candidate should be confident and able to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience orclasscompletion in areas of bankruptcycollectionsand/or foreclosure.
  • Spanish-speaking ability

Location:

This position is housed in theDenveroffice.

Time commitment:

Full-timefor10 weeks.


Compensation:

The position is unpaid but is open to receiving other work study funds that arestudent generated. Students may apply for course credit through their Externship Program.
