Conduct full respiratory assessments to meet the clients goals and needs ensuring quality care. This includes assessing and evaluating test results delivering necessary equipment and supplies and determining respiratory therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians and care teams as per prescription. Any discrepancies with respiratory therapy treatments are identified and brought to the attention of the care team.
Initiate and manage CPAP therapy as prescribed providing education and instructions on equipment use and maintenance. Provides best fit facial interface for long term CPAP or BILEVEL treatment.
Conduct appointments and set up equipment for sleep diagnostic testing in accordance with American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) guidelines.
Provide regular follow-up to clients to assess treatment effects comfort and compliance recommending adjustments as necessary.
Assess clients home environments for safety addressing concerns and performing quality control checks on equipment.
Liaise with healthcare professionals to promote Air Liquide Home Healthcare Canada providing information and demonstrations of products and services to prospective clients.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clinical best practices and continuing education relevant to the position.
Ensure compliance with funding processes and systems and maintain accurate documentation through completion of company forms (both digital and non-electronic).
Uphold client confidentiality and protect company operations by safeguarding sensitive information.
Adhere to safety and infection control policies and protocols to protect clients and employees.
Provide instruction supervision and evaluation for new staff and students as needed.
Participate in oxygen and other respiratory services including starts patient follow up and on-call duties when required.
Seek continuous improvement in branch operations by evaluating processes and participating in quality improvement activities.
Ability to work in a team/independently/without supervision
Ability to drive long distances in all weather conditions
Ability to participate in on-call rotation (as required)
Ability to adjust working schedule as business needs change including evenings and weekends
Adaptability to changing client environments
Ability to frequently lift up to 20 - 50 lbs unassisted
