Job Summary

  1. Main Responsibilities

 

  1. Policy management and engagement within the framework of WWF Bolivias Strategic Plan
  • Design a Policy and Relationship strategy for 2025 with impact targets for 2030 aligned with the Institutional Strategic Plan for 2030.
  • Strengthen the capacities of the Conservation team (landscapes themes and projects) on tools for policy processes and effective advocacy on WWF Network resources.
  • Support the Conservation team to develop relationship strategies with defined objectives to position WWFs work in the respective landscapes and issues according to the WWF 2030 Strategic Plan.
  • Follow and support the implementation of the strategy of relations and policies by landscape themes and projects.
  • Evaluate landscape and theme engagement action plans annually as part of the learning and improvement cycle of the public policy and engagement function.
  1. Manage strategic alliances
  • Design and implement a relationship strategy with defined objectives for WWFs positioning in international cooperation entities and government bodies to connect collaborative work opportunities in the prioritized landscapes and in accordance with the WWF Bolivia 2030 Institutional Strategic Plan.
  • Carry out or update mappings and analysis of actors interests and opportunities in accordance with the objectives set participate and follow up on meetings events and technical workshops with identified key actors.
  • Participates in meetings with other organizations international cooperation and government agencies related to the policy and relationship function.
  • Generates content on public policies and relations to position WWF as a contributor for communicational products of policies relations and advocacy.
  1. Permanence Financing Project (PFP)
  • Support the design and implementation of a relationship strategy for the PFP project with defined objectives to position the project in government entities in collaboration with the PFP Project team in Bolivia and the global network.
  • Carry out or update mappings and analyses of actors interests and opportunities in accordance with the defined objectives participating in and following up on meetings events and technical workshops with identified key actors related to the project.
  • Generate content on public policies and relations to position the project as an input for communicational products on policies relations and advocacy.
  • Design a strategy to position Bolivias PFP in international biodiversity (CBD) GBF and climate change (UNFCCC) spaces to make Bolivias work on GBF PFP agenda 30x30 visible.
  1. International Processes and Coordination with Policy Team Network
  • Design and implement work strategies within the framework of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) the Global Biodiversity Framework (GBF) the Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) the RAMSAR Convention ESCAZU etc. that support the advancement of the positioning of conservation issues promoted by Bolivia and that are connected to the work of WWF.
  • Carry out or update mapping and analysis of actors interests and opportunities in accordance with the objectives set participate and follow up on meetings events and technical workshops with identified key actors.
  • Represent WWF Bolivia in WWF policy and advocacy spaces both regionally and internationally.

  • Supervises the development of annual goals of the people under his/her responsibility conducts semi-annual evaluations and a final evaluation in accordance with the organizations policies and supports the strengthening of the capacities and competencies of the people under his/her responsibility.

Qualifications :

  1. Minimum Requirements
  2. Education
  • Professional University Degree in a related field such as anthropology sociology environmental sciences social sciences political sciences etc. Masters degree preferred
  • Courses and specialization in sustainable development issues public management sustainable development environmental diplomacy etc.
  • Advanced English spoken and written level at least B2 CEFR (excluding).
  1. Experience
  • Minimum eight years of experience working in governance and public policy related to biodiversity conservation natural resource management as well as an understanding of national and international conservation issues and the sustainable use of natural resources and water.
  • Good understanding and analytical skills of environmental social political and economic problems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Spanish and English. 
  • Broad knowledge of the national context on issues relevant to the work of WWF Bolivia.
  1. Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced English spoken and written level at least B2 CEFR (excluding).
  • Capacity for dialogue and relations with government representatives international cooperation and NGOs. Ability to develop and implement plans for political relations negotiation and participation of diverse actors. Understanding of national and international environmental agendas
  • Ability to operate independently under pressure to meet deadlines and commitments.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills including the ability to develop rapport in a multicultural environment.
  • Experience working on development and conservation projects including project design impact monitoring and fundraising.
  • Excellent skills in organizing planning and systematizing information writing reports and systematizing results and results orientation.
  • Innovation and creativity good management and knowledge of computers (Outlook Excel statistical packages Word Zoom Teams etc.).
  • Availability to travel domestically.
