Field Supervisor Position Summary: Alamon Inc. seeks a Field Supervisor for its Utilities West department.The Field Supervisor for the Utilities West department is responsible for the overall safety quality and productivity of multiple field crews performing wooden utility pole inspection treatment and restoration services within a designated regional territory. This role requires extensive travel hands-on leadership rigorous adherence to utility client specifications and proactive management of all operational logistics. The Supervisor serves as the primary liaison between field crews Project Management and the client. Job Description: - Provide positive and constructive feedback to necessary steps to correct job deficiencies up to and including termination.
- Perform employee / site reviews.
- Suggest employee skill level and pay-scale changes.
- Responsible for all job site quality costs schedules staffing customer satisfaction and safety.
- Process and track applicable customer documentation and verify customer required documents are completed accurately and on time.
- Complete associated job documentation where required.
- Serve as first Point of Contact for customers returning all calls and emails in a timely and professional manner being proactive in communication keeping customers updated on job status.
- Audit jobs and provide on-site training as necessary including safety training.
- Provide information to customers as requested and work on the job site if required.
- Ensure profitability in each job and track results as needed.
- Document and capture all out-of-scope dollars as required and ensure the OOS requests are submitted in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate with the software development team as required to capture data and develop job documentation to ensure project success.
- Market Alamon at every appropriate opportunity growing the business is an important part of the job. Building relationships is an important part of the Supervisors ability to be successful.
- Visit sites for walkthroughs in the area.
- Make suggestions and prepare bids as directed.
- Maintain profitability requirements on jobs bid.
- Provide weekly status report to HQ.
- Maintain contact and provide updates to the assigned manager.
- Act independently within the framework of the company structure.
- Perform other job-duties as assigned.
Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in a field such as Construction Management Forestry or Business/Operations Management preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven supervisory experience managing field crews in utility services construction infrastructure maintenance or a related field.
- Deep verifiable experience in utility pole inspection wood preservation/treatment and structural restoration techniques.
- Consistent history of enforcing OSHA regulations utility client safety protocols and environmental standards and proper chemical/waste handling.
- Possess a current and valid drivers license with a clean driving record and no DUI/DWIs within the past 5 years.
- Must pass the pre-employment screening process drug test and MVR pull.
- Willing to travel locally statewide or regionally as required.
- Must be able to read and understand written and verbal instructions and work orders.
- Possess a professional attitude that will positively represent Alamon to clients and the communities in which they work.
Work Environment: - This is a fast-paced customer-driven environment.
- Portions of the day will be spent outside with sporadic visits to operational areas resulting in exposure to a variety of temperatures and prevailing weather conditions. This may result in exposure to dust odors gasses vapors wet or slick surfaces and loud noises.
- Where appropriate wears personal protective equipment (PPE) in compliance with Company standards and governmental regulations.
- The extension of regular working hours is occasionally necessary to complete time-sensitive projects attend training or respond to emergencies.
- Additionally work may be required on weekends and holidays as dictated by business demands.
Physical Requirements: - This position may require working outside in varying weather types and exposure to the elements.
- This position may require hiking and standing for long periods of time.
- Some jobs may require digging.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40lbs.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods of time to travel to and from job sites.
Travel Requirements: - Must be willing and able to travel extensively (up to 75-100%) within local statewide and national regions including overnight stays and working extended or irregular hours as needed.
- Transportation and lodging are provided while working and traveling for Alamon.
- Must be able to sit for long periods of time while traveling to and from job sites.
