Job Overview
Our client is looking to appoint a Caretaker to start in January 2026. The successful Caretaker will play a key role in the day-to-day maintenance security and presentation of the school site ensuring it remains a safe clean and well-maintained environment for students staff and visitors.

The Role
The Caretaker will be responsible for a range of duties including:
Opening and closing the school site including key holding and security checks
Carrying out routine maintenance repairs and health & safety checks
Maintaining school buildings and grounds to a high standard
Setting up rooms for lessons exams and school events
Liaising with contractors and reporting maintenance issues
Supporting health & safety and safeguarding procedures
Caretaker Experience and Requirements
Previous experience in caretaking site maintenance or a similar role (school experience desirable)
Practical skills with the ability to carry out basic repairs and maintenance tasks
Good knowledge of health & safety practices
Strong communication and organisational skills
Legal right to work in the UK
A proactive reliable and team-oriented approach
Location: Swindon Wiltshire
Start Date: January 2026
Salary: Competitive and dependent on experience
