Position Overview
NurseAmerica is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse Radiation Oncology to join a high-performing outpatient oncology team. This role provides professional nursing care to patients undergoing radiation and oncology-related treatments while supporting continuity of care across the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

Plan implement coordinate and evaluate patient care following established clinical standards
-
Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical history labs and psychosocial needs
-
Prepare and administer therapies and medications under physician supervision
-
Administer medications and blood products safely and accurately
-
Perform venipuncture access implanted ports and maintain central line devices
-
Monitor patient responses to treatment and coordinate dose modifications as needed
-
Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support
-
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
-
Ensure proper consent and pre-authorization prior to treatments
-
Follow OSHA and infection control guidelines when handling hazardous materials
-
Assist with clinical operations including patient flow scheduling triage calls and referrals
-
Collaborate with physicians advanced practice providers and clinical research teams
-
Serve as a clinical resource to LPNs and medical assistants
-
Participate in ongoing professional development and oncology education
Qualifications
-
Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)
-
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland
-
Current BLS certification
-
1 3 years of nursing experience (oncology experience preferred)

Strong clinical organizational and communication skills
-
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced outpatient setting
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Possible exposure to communicable diseases cytotoxic agents and radiation
-
Prolonged standing and walking
-
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
-
Manual dexterity and coordination are required for patient care and equipment use
