Sign-On Bonus: $10000

Position Overview

NurseAmerica is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse Radiation Oncology to join a high-performing outpatient oncology team. This role provides professional nursing care to patients undergoing radiation and oncology-related treatments while supporting continuity of care across the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan implement coordinate and evaluate patient care following established clinical standards

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical history labs and psychosocial needs

  • Prepare and administer therapies and medications under physician supervision

  • Administer medications and blood products safely and accurately

  • Perform venipuncture access implanted ports and maintain central line devices

  • Monitor patient responses to treatment and coordinate dose modifications as needed

  • Provide patient and family education and psychosocial support

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record

  • Ensure proper consent and pre-authorization prior to treatments

  • Follow OSHA and infection control guidelines when handling hazardous materials

  • Assist with clinical operations including patient flow scheduling triage calls and referrals

  • Collaborate with physicians advanced practice providers and clinical research teams

  • Serve as a clinical resource to LPNs and medical assistants

  • Participate in ongoing professional development and oncology education

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred)

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland

  • Current BLS certification

  • 1 3 years of nursing experience (oncology experience preferred)

  • Strong clinical organizational and communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced outpatient setting

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases cytotoxic agents and radiation

  • Prolonged standing and walking

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs

  • Manual dexterity and coordination are required for patient care and equipment use
