Pay Rate: $-55 per hour
Schedule:

80 hours per pay period
Flexible day shift Monday Friday
Occasional weekends and holidays as needed

Contract Length: 6 months

Job Description:

The Registered Wound Continence Nurse provides specialized nursing care focused on wound management continence care and related clinical services within an IHS healthcare setting. The role ensures high-quality culturally competent care while adhering to IHS standards nursing best practices and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:

Minimum 1 year of experience in wound/continence specialty and Minimum 3 years of overall nursing experience
Basic Life Support Advance Cardiac Life Support Certification
WCON Certification
Valid unrestricted nursing license in a state the District of Columbia the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or a Territory of the United States.

Responsibilities:

Complete all required contract nurse orientation competency verification and HealthStream training.
Follow IHS policies related to billing emergency codes and EMTALA compliance.
Administer blood components and medications in accordance with nursing standards.
Perform IV therapy venipuncture and pain management interventions.
Demonstrate competency in EHR documentation and charting.
Adhere to protocols for patient restraints latex allergy precautions and sexual/physical assault care.
Apply nursing standards and unit-specific competencies in daily patient care.
Perform charge nurse duties as assigned including leadership and oversight responsibilities.
Complete required competency exams including basic cardiac arrhythmia testing (as applicable).
Demonstrate cultural awareness including knowledge of Navajo and Zuni cultures when providing patient care.
