Description
Glenville State University is seeking a highly motivated and disciplined individual to serve as Graduate Assistant for the Universitys Boxing Program. This position reports directly to the Head Boxing Coach and supports all aspects of a competitive collegiate boxing program including training competition preparation recruiting and administrative operations.
Examples of Duties
- Assist with daily practice planning conditioning programs and skill development sessions.
- Support bout preparation meet-day logistics and travel planning.
- Assist the Head Coach with recruiting prospective student-athletes in compliance with institutional and governing-body rules.
- Analyze sparring and competition performance to help improve athlete development.
- Track athlete eligibility and support academic success in coordination with the institutions Student Success Center.
- Assist with program administration including equipment management scheduling and communication.
- Promote a culture of discipline sportsmanship safety and academic accountability within the boxing program.
- Represent the boxing program at campus and community events as requested.
Typical Qualifications
- Registered and enrolled in a graduate degree program at an institution with a working agreement with Glenville States Graduate Assistant program
- Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
- Background in boxing (competitive coaching or training experience required)
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Excellent interpersonal organizational and communication abilities
- Ability to work evenings weekends and travel as required
- Basic computer literacy and administrative skills
