We Are hiring IP-DRG Coder / Auditor
The IP-DRG Auditor is responsible for conducting in-depth audits of inpatient medical records to ensure accurate DRG assignment and coding compliance. The role requires validating that diagnoses procedures POA indicators and discharge dispositions are fully supported by clinical documentation and coded with the highest level of specificity in line with IPPS methodology.
The incumbent will also play a key role in mentoring training and providing continuous feedback to coders and Clinical Documentation Specialists ensuring quality compliance and productivity benchmarks are consistently met.
Location: Chennai Hyderabad Noida
Work Model
- First 3 months: Mandatory Work from Office (Training Period)
- Post training: Work From Home (WFH) based on performance and compliance
Perform detailed inpatient DRG audits with high accuracy and quality
Validate assigned DRGs diagnoses procedures POA indicators and discharge status
Ensure compliance with IPPS guidelines and coding standards
Follow all SOPs project protocols and instructions without deviation
Meet defined quality and productivity targets
Maintain and update all required logs (productivity clarification audit logs etc.) on a daily basis
Escalate issues proactively and identify trends impacting quality or productivity
Provide mentoring training and constructive feedback to coding teams
Respond promptly to all communications from Manager / Team Lead
Coordinate with Manager/TL for any coding or audit clarifications
Ensure full compliance with HIPAA OIG and organizational policies across the team
Requirements
- Mandatory Certification: CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) OR CIC (Certified Inpatient Coder)
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Inpatient DRG Coding or DRG Auditing
- Bachelors degree in Nursing (Preferred) or Bachelors in Science
- CTC Budget: Up to 14 LPAQualifications
Skills & Competencies
Strong IP-DRG auditing experience
Sound knowledge of IPPS methodology
Proficiency in MS Excel Word and Outlook
Exposure to 3M Encoder and NLP tools
Excellent communication and analytical skills
High attention to detail and flexibility
