Job Overview
Navitas Healthcare is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our ICU Step Down unit during a period of increased patient census. This role involves caring for patients transitioning from the ICU who require more intensive monitoring than a standard Med/Surg unit. Nurses will manage a 1:4 patient ratio providing care for adults through geriatric populations.

Key Responsibilities

High-Acuity Monitoring: Manage patients with complex medical equipment including catheters feeding tubes tracheostomies ventilators and cardiac monitors.
Patient Assessment: Conduct frequent assessments and escalate care promptly based on patient condition.
Emergency Response: Act swiftly and effectively in cardiac arrest and rapid response situations.
Clinical Procedures: Perform IV insertions phlebotomy and administer conscious sedation as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience:

Minimum 2 years in a Medical/Surgical Step Down unit or ICU experience.

Technical Skills:

IV insertion and phlebotomy (2 years)
Conscious sedation administration (2 years)

Education & Licensure:

Associates Degree in Nursing (ASN/ADN) required; Bachelors degree preferred
Active New York State RN license

Certifications:

AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
