Job Summary
ICU Step-Down (Med/Surg SD) Registered Nurse Days
Location: Queens NY
Contract Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Days (3x12) 7:30 AM 8:00 PM 34.5 Hours/Week
Pay: $2415/Week
Position Overview:
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join the ICU Step-Down unit providing care for patients transitioning from the ICU. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4 caring for adult and geriatric patients with complex medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor high-acuity patients with medical equipment including catheters feeding tubes tracheostomies ventilators and cardiac monitors.
Conduct frequent patient assessments and escalate care when necessary.
Respond promptly to emergencies including cardiac arrests and rapid response situations.
Perform IV insertions phlebotomy and administer conscious sedation as required.
Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure quality patient care.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 2 years in Med/Surg Step-Down units or ICU.
Skills: Proficient in IV insertion phlebotomy and conscious sedation.
Education: ASN/ADN required; BSN preferred.
Licensure: Active NY RN License.
Certifications: BLS & ACLS.
