Primoris Services Corporation is seeking a detail oriented and proactive Service Writer / scheduler to join our Equipment Department. The Service Writer will support the Fleet Supervisor by assisting in the daily operations of the service department. Key responsibilities include scheduling equipment inspections and repairs tracking maintenance work orders invoicing and performing related data entry for all completed repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work Order Management:
- Initiate and manage repair orders input technician notes review for accuracy and obtain approval for repairs on company-owned assets above designated thresholds before finalizing.
- Scheduling:
- Schedule vendor repair appointments and maintain accurate up-to-date records of vehicle and equipment maintenance.
- Database Management:
- Ensure the vehicle and equipment database is current tracking daily vehicle mileage hours and heavy equipment usage.
- Records Maintenance:
- Update repair and maintenance records with the latest services inspections and preventive maintenance (PM) status.
- Coordination with R&M Personnel:
- Work with the Repair & Maintenance team to ensure timely service and communicate planned maintenance with vendors and job sites.
- Monitoring Progress:
- Track the progress of actual versus planned maintenance and repairs for company assets.
- Support:
- Assist in scheduling work answering repair-related questions and advising on repairs within established guidelines. Review repair orders for accuracy.
- Industry Knowledge:
- Apply industry terminology for accurate service writing estimating and parts requests.
- Regulatory Compliance:
- Support in ensuring the shop complies with government regulations safety guidelines and company policies while keeping manuals and other resources up to date.
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience preferably in the construction industry.
- Experience in purchasing and sourcing parts/materials is a plus.
- Knowledge of automotive and equipment industries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project is desirable.
