Thales Integrated Airspace-protection Systems (IAS) UK designs and manufactures a range of cutting-edge technologies ranging from air surveillance and mission planning systems to missiles.
We specialise in lightweight missiles and the integration of weapon systems into various platforms along with the systems to manage and exploit critical mission planning and air surveillance data.
We have sustained growth through the award of multiple high-value contracts continuing to expand our Airspace operations. We are current recruiting for a Principal Power Electronics Engineer who has strong experience in Power Systems Architecture Power Electronics and Electrical Power development.
The Role
As a Principal Power Electronics Engineer you will be expected to mentor and guide others in the design of electronic and electrical power systems that deliver world-class performance. You will be working and developing alongside a multi-disciplinary team of 35 Electronics Engineers who are some of the most experienced in the industry.
Your role will span the entire product lifecycle from design requirements capture and analysis through to defining the power architecture and designing building testing and verifying that the solution meets the customers needs.
The Power Electronics role requires working within the Electronics team to optimise the design through trade-offs studies analyses modelling and simulation to produce a best-in class competitive product.

Security Clearance statement
This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held however if not currently held it is a requirement that the successful applicant will undergo achieve and maintain SC Clearance. Please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
To be eligible for full SC you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 some circumstances a minimum of 3 years residence in the UK over the last 5 years may be accepted with additional overseas checks.
