About the role

You will form part of a team providing professional and friendly customer support within food and retail services interacting with a diverse range of internal and external clients and visitors covering a range of functions.

You will:

  • provide customer service;

  • prepare basic food items for sale for café menus and grab and go;

  • provide table service to customers in cafes;

  • produce coffee and other hot drinks; Barista training highly regarded;

  • manage the POS and be familiar with POS system procedures;

  • maintain the cleanliness of the workplace to ensure both customer and staff safety including clearing tables cleaning equipment and kitchen areas;

  • accept deliveries and put away stock; and

  • assist with preparation and set up of catering jobs.

About you

You will work independently as well as part of a team and to tight time frames. You will possess the necessary prioritisation skills and ensure completion of appropriate tasks within tight fast paced timelines with good accurate attention to detail.

You will possess:

  • a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate is desirable;

  • Food Handling Certificate;

  • demonstrated experience in handling food and cleaning commercial kitchens;

  • ability to work individually and as part of a team;

  • demonstrated ability to provide exceptional customer service to customers; and

  • ability to work during the academic year semesters.

All University positions delivering education and/or services to children must hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
