Schedule: Rotating 8- or 10-hour shifts
Shift Times:
9:00 AM 5:30 PM
9:00 AM 7:30 PM
On-Call: None
Weekends: Not required
Compensation
Weekly Gross: $2401.20/week
W2 Rate: $21/hour
Stipend: $1561/week
Job Summary
The Surgical Technologist (OR General) supports surgical teams by preparing operating rooms maintaining sterile fields and assisting surgeons and nursing staff during procedures. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe efficient and high-quality surgical care across multiple specialties.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments equipment and supplies according to procedure requirements.
Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures and adhere to aseptic techniques.
Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments sutures and supplies efficiently.
Assist with patient positioning skin preparation and draping.
Perform surgical counts and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
Clean and prepare the operating room between cases.
Handle specimens according to established policies.
Follow infection control safety and regulatory standards at all times.
Collaborate effectively with surgeons anesthesiologists nurses and other OR staff.
Qualifications
Ability to read write and communicate effectively in English.
Graduate of an accredited civilian or military Surgical Technology / Operating Room Technician program.
National Certification (NBSTSA) required.
Certification from an NCCA-accredited organization recognized by:
American College of Surgeons
Association of Surgical Technologists
Current BLS certification required.
Orthopedic surgical experience strongly preferred.
