Job Summary
The Electrophysiology Technologist (EP) is responsible for providing technical and clinical support in the Electrophysiology Lab. This role involves monitoring and scrubbing for both simple and complex electrophysiology procedures cardiac rhythm management (CRM) device cases and left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) procedures while ensuring patient safety and procedural efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and scrub for simple and complex EP studies.
Assist with cardiac rhythm management (CRM) device cases including pacemakers ICDs explants and extractions.
Support left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) procedures.
Prepare and maintain EP lab equipment supplies and sterile fields.
Operate EP monitoring and mapping systems during procedures.
Collaborate with physicians nurses and the EP team to ensure safe and efficient case flow.
Follow all safety infection control and procedural protocols.
Accurately document procedural data and patient information as required.
Participate in on-call coverage including weekends as scheduled.
Required Qualifications
EP Lab experience required (must have hands-on experience in an EP Lab setting).
RCIS or RCES certification required.
Ability to monitor and scrub both simple and complex EP procedures.
Strong knowledge of electrophysiology equipment techniques and protocols.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
