About the team:
The Vera Tech Department acts as both astrategicpartner and service provider for the Institute. As a strategic partner we collaborate with teams to extend the use of collaborativetechnologytools into their daily work. As a service provider we ensure the stability and security oftheinfrastructure and provide professional support to all its users.
Theinternwill work hand in hand withVeraTech Opsteam and gain valuable knowledgefrom our dedicated technicalanalysts aswe provide technical support to our general staff.The candidate willalso work onlong-termIT projectsandhelptofind novel solutions to these projectsas they are necessaryto improve service upgrade existingtechandresolve recurring issues.
In this position the intern will gain valuable hands-on experience in all aspects of Information Technology. The internship can be used for school credit.
The Vera Tech Intern will learn:
- Learn the skills that would allow you to work in a technical support role and to learn the processes that keepan IT Department working
- Troubleshooting skills for both hardware and software programs
- To work on Level 1 and eventually Level 2 tickets
- Howto work on team projects to better guide a technology department
About the role:
- Troubleshoot level 1 helpdesk tickets shadow Helpdesk analystslearn how to deal work through hardware and software issues
- Help with implementing laptop refresh project / Windows 11 upgrade
- Getnewlaptops on domain check IP address make sure printers are properlymapped
- Server room /computer equipment inventory project
- Installing software on desktops and laptops
- Replacing hardware on desktops and laptops / wiping computer images
What qualifications are we looking for
A full or part time undergraduate pursuing a B.S degree in Computer Science Information technology InformationManagementor similar disciplineorata Technical Vocational school
Knowledge Skills & Abilities youll bring:
- StrongMS Office skills Windows10/11 skills
- Some computer hardware skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and professional presentation
Technical knowledge helpful for this role:
- Some experience with Windows Server Active Directory & other Networking technologies (not)
- Any Microsoft certification or relevant IT certification (would be beneficial)
- Windows 10 11 Microsoft Office
Location:
Please note this role will report to our Brooklyn NY office. Vera employees adhere to a hybrid schedule and are in-office on an alternating schedule that generally amounts to 10 days per month.
Compensation and Benefits:
The compensation range for this position is $17.00 - $25.00 per hour.Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to experience and performance.
