Company Overview
Our client is a well-established and growing construction business based in Cork operating across multiple active entities within the group. The company is involved in a range of construction projects and has built a strong reputation for quality delivery and professionalism.
Due to a long-term illness within the finance team the business now requires an experienced Temporary Accountant to provide ongoing support. This is a key role within the organisation and will remain in place for as long as the business requires cover.
The Role
The Temporary Accountant will be responsible for managing accounting and finance activities across three active companies within the construction group. The role will involve hands-on involvement in payroll subcontractor payments month-end processes and year-end support.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accountant who is available at short notice and comfortable working in a temporary ongoing capacity.
Key Responsibilities
Managing payroll for multiple entities including employees and subcontractors
Processing payments to subcontractors in line with contracts and agreed schedules
Managing expenses invoices and cost tracking
Completing month-end duties including reconciliations and reporting
Monitoring costs and cash flow within a construction environment
Assisting with year-end accounts preparation and liaising with external accountants
Ensuring compliance with financial tax and regulatory requirements
Providing ad-hoc financial and administrative support as required
Requirements
Proven experience in an accounting role ideally within the construction industry
Strong payroll experience including subcontractor and expense processing
Experience managing accounts for multiple companies or group structures
Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
Available to start ASAP or at short notice
Comfortable working on a temporary ongoing contract
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
