Job Description
This position is responsible for providing customer service to Solid Waste Management customers for trash and recycling services within unincorporated Gwinnett County. This includes processing new resident applications and set ups and investigating and resolving complaints. This position also has daily interaction with residents and residential hauler personnel.

Essential Duties
  • Provides customer service to Solid Waste Management customers regarding service issues and investigate complaints by phone email and in-person
  • Creates updates and maintains accounts and records of billings to include conducting balancing
  • Creates basic work orders including orders for moved in/moved out
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level
Public Speaking Duties
  • Answers questions at events about trash and recycling services
Grade
The grade for this position is A13(1).

Effective 4/11/2023 this position is eligible for the Employee Referral Program.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D and
  • Two (2) years of customer service experienceor
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the duties of the job
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish - This position interacts frequently with Spanish-speaking customers and will be expected to receive and convey information in an effective manner. Therefore preference will be given to bilingual applicants who also meet the minimum job requirements.
  • One (1) or more years experience in an office setting
  • Two (2) years experience in a customer service call center
  • Experience using SAP Customer Relations Management (CRM)
  • Experience with FIVE 9 phone systems
  • Proficient using Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Effective listening and phone skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills
