General Purpose
Counselor works in cooperation with the director assistant directors and camp counselors carrying out specific program activities. Bring the fun and excitement to kids in need of a playful escape during school break! Lets create an unforgettable atmosphere where laughter and safety are the top priority.

Pay Grade:$19.15 - $20.75 Hourly
Remote Tier 1:Zero (0) days remote/week
Essential Job Functions
- Available for February School Break (2/23-2/27) and April School Break (4/20-4/24)
- Follow all departmental rules and regulations to ensure a fun safe and smooth camp experience.
- Assist in planning and delivery of exciting activities and enriching program.
- Check area for safety hazards and report deficiencies to supervisor.
- Attend staff meetings and staff trainings as required.
- Report all accidents and incidents occurring within jurisdiction to supervisor.
- Administer proper First Aid as required.
- Required to be on site 15 minutes before the program starts for setup and help with cleanup after the program comes to an end.
- Participation in a feedback-driven evaluation process.
Qualifications/Basic Job Requirements
- Ability to actively support City diversity equity and cultural competency efforts within stated job responsibilities and work effectively across diverse cultures and constituencies.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity equity and inclusion as evidenced by ongoing trainings and professional development.
- Previous experience working with children in a group or individualized situation required.
- College course work in education childhood development family studies or recreation preferred.
- Ability to supervise and organize groups of children for activity programs.
- Ability to deal effectively with disagreements co-workers and supervisors.
- Knowledge of safety principles and practices as they apply to group activities.
- Knowledge of a variety recreation/leisure activities and group games.
- A cooperative attitude and team player.
- Enthusiasm patience a desire to work with children and creativity.
