Segula Technologies is hiring a Lead Engineer to develop and optimize workstation layouts for a major automotive assembly program. This role focuses on leading the process of Workstation Design which will include materials tools and assembly aids to support the operator and ensuring all assembly stations meet safety quality and launch readiness standards in collaboration with Industrial Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the workstation design for Assembly areas for Trim Chassis Final Battery or Body Shop.
- Identify the optimal material presentation method to support the operator using lean manufacturing principles
- Provide direction to the layout engineer for developing the overall layout the respective area
- Develop strategy for Material Presentation for the assigned area which will include kitting sequencing bulk and small lot
- Drive the team in meeting the launch deliverables and overall station readiness in support of the launch
- Collaborate with Launch Industrial Engineers to balance line workloads and confirm station cycle times meet takt targets
- Participate in launch review meetings to present workstation design material strategy and constraints to the core launch team. Resolve any issues related to material or station design that arises.
- Ensure tooling and equipment integration within each station aligns with overall line layout and material flow strategy.
- Participate in pilot builds and process validation to verify layout accuracy and resolve design-related issues.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
- Lead or contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on ergonomics productivity and space utilization.
- Validate that the team maintains accurate station documentation drawing revisions and design change logs.
- Provide accurate quantity of the equipment required your respective area. Work with the core team to order equipment and ensure delivery and installation timing of all the equipment
- Develop a plan for the assigned area for all build milestones which will include but not limited to prototype pre-series and job 1
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Manufacturing Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience) or Manufacturing Technology
- 5 years of experience in automotive heavy equipment or high-volume manufacturing environments.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD.
- Working knowledge of ergonomics station design lean manufacturing and tooling integration.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and standardized work practices.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with cross-functional engineering teams.
- Ability to manage multiple design projects in a dynamic launch environment.
- Experience supporting vehicle assembly line design or new model launch.
- Understanding of automation robotics or material handling systems used in modern assembly operations.
