Job Summary

  • Diagnose repair and maintain CNC machines and manufacturing equipment
  • Machine installations and setup
  • Perform adjustments and repairs of drives hydraulic systems electronic controls electrical peripherals and other items
  • Troubleshoot electrical mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Calibrate adjust and replace components to ensure precise machine performance
  • Maintain detailed service records and communicate findings with customers and internal teams
  • Clean and assist with upkeep of facilities
  • Work in a safe manner and recognize unsafe Take appropriate action to ensure safety of oneself and others
  • Coordinate with production staff to schedule maintenance without disrupting workflow
  • Complete all other work assigned including cross-training and intermittent work in other departments

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time position that requires a flexible work schedule as needed (i.e. work overtime weekends holidays change shifts and/or return to the plant during off hours often with little notice).

KNOWLEDGE SKILL & ABILITIES

  • Strong knowledge of CNC systems including controls and servo systems
  • Working knowledge of electrical circuits including components schematics and basic measurements
  • Understanding of basic industrial control systems and automation concepts
  • Familiarity with industrial automation sensors actuators and control systems
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools precision instruments and basic machine shop equipment
  • Understanding of mechanical electrical and PLC fundamentals (PLC experience a plus)
  • Basic understanding of hydraulic systems components and troubleshooting techniques (experience with industrial or mobile hydraulics is a plus)
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Knowledge of relevant equipment policies procedures and strategies to promote effective local state or national security operations for the protection of people data property and institutions. Know and comply with OSHA and EPA requirements regarding safe and proper methods of maintenance repair (lockout/tag-out procedures proper disposal of waste etc.)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or machining environment working with automated manufacturing equipment
  • Experience working with metal manufacturing equipment preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred
  • Knowledge of PLC programming a plus

MATERIAL AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:

All types of hand and power tools hydraulics pneumatics material handling equipment ladders man- lift computers telephone fax machine photocopier precision measuring tools blueprints routings digital readout equipment lubricants maintenance supplies and manuals. Appropriate personal protective wear such as steel-toed shoes safety glasses/goggles earplugs gloves apron dust masks welding helmet lanyards and back brace.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Internal and external medium to heavy factory work in an environment with temperatures varying from hot to cold may be exposed to fumes gases odors and some poorly ventilated areas. 8- 12 hours a day performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body such as climbing lifting balancing walking stooping and handling of materials. Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds at a time. Occasional exposure to high noise levels wet conditions and vibration. Visual acuity in color peripheral vision and depth of perception are necessary. Must be able to breathe easily while wearing a full-face respirator for long periods of time. Hazards within the worksite may include mechanical and electrical equipment sharp edges pinch points toxic/caustic chemicals burns and material handling.
