The Role
As an Estimator I you will play a critical role in winning and setting up complex geotechnical and heavy civil projects for success. You will develop detailed estimates analyze drawings and specifications and engage directly with suppliers and subcontractors to build accurate defensible and executable pricing.
With a minimum of two years of relevant experience you are expected to manage most estimating tasks independently while actively learning from senior estimators and collaborating closely with engineering and project teams. This role is ideal for someone who wants to move fast learn deeply and grow into larger scopes of responsibility.

Responsibilities
Estimate Development & Analysis
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for assigned trades and scopes.
- Independently interpret drawings specifications and geotechnical information to determine material labor and equipment needs.
- Develop pricing for self-performed work including shotcrete soil nails grouting drainage and other specialty construction activities.
Market & Cost Intelligence
- Solicit analyze and level subcontractor and vendor quotes for completeness risk and alignment with scope.
- Attend pre-bid site visits to understand field conditions access constraints and constructability risks.
- Maintain and contribute to historical cost data to improve estimate accuracy over time.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineers and project managers to validate assumptions and pricing strategies.
- Support conceptual budgets for early-stage pursuits and design-build work.
- Participate in project handoff meetings ensuring estimating intent and risk assumptions are clearly communicated to execution teams.
Operational Discipline
- Deliver estimates on time complete and in strict alignment with bid requirements.
- Continuously improve estimating processes tools and templates as part of a learning organization.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
- 2 years of estimating experience in heavy civil geotechnical or related construction environments.
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management Construction Technology or a related field.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to explain assumptions and risks.
- Working knowledge of heavy civil construction methods including earthwork reinforced concrete shotcrete drainage foundations and retaining structures.
- Understanding of how multiple trades integrate to deliver complex infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency with MS Office and Excel.
- Valid drivers license and willingness to work extended hours during bid cycles as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with design-build delivery models.
- Exposure to geotechnical or specialty construction.
- PE EIT or CM certification (or progress toward).
- Experience with estimating software (B2W preferred).
Physical & Work Environment
- Primarily office-based work with moderate noise levels typical of a collaborative office.
- Regular use of computers phones and standard office equipment.
- Occasional travel (up to 10%) for site visits and project pursuits within North America.

The expected base pay range for this position in the Denver area is $70000.00 - $90000.00. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications experience and geographic location. Range is not inclusive of potential bonus or benefits.
