Canton Public Schools is seeking an per diem van driver to support transportation needs within the district.
VANDRIVER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive all types of trips in support of school approved activities including athletic events
- Operate a schoolvan in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; follow all safety rules and regulations
- Maintain control of student passengers as related to safety; report unsafe acts or conditions which require the attention of any person other than the driver
- Perform required operational and safety inspections of the school van and all related quipment
- Assure vehicles are in a safe and proper condition; follow preventative maintenance schedule
- Perform othervan driver related duties as directed by the District
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Driver must be available afternoons and evenings
- Proven record of dependability and dedication
- Possess a valid Massachusetts Drivers License
- Excellent physical health with current Medical Examiners Certificate in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Consent to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administraton) Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- Complete a satisfactory Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) check
- Complete a satisfactory SAFIS fingerprint based national criminal history check
- Pass a pre-employment drug and alchohol screening
- Three continuous years of driving and clean driving record
- At least 1 year of relevanttransportation experience preferred
Compensation: This is a per diem hourly position; $28 per hour
