We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead hands-on design of large-scale custom mechanical systems from concept through installation and commissioning. This role offers full system ownership collaboration with fabrication and installation teams and accountability for real-world performance safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design mechanical systems from concept to operational build including major redesigns (50%).
- Create 3D models using SolidWorks (preferred) or similar CAD software.
- Perform stress fatigue reliability and tolerance analyses; select components for optimal performance.
- Design troubleshoot and integrate pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
- Conduct risk assessments failure analysis and safety-critical design reviews.
- Develop system documentation: operation manuals design descriptions analysis reports and maintenance plans.
- Support on-site installation/commissioning; work off shifts as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (or directly related experience).
- 10 years of mechanical engineering experience with 3 years leading mechanical design projects from scratch.
- Hands-on 3D modeling experience (SolidWorks preferred; Creo/Inventor acceptable).
- Strong mechanical analysis skills (stress fatigue reliability tolerance studies).
- Experience with large-scale system installation and commissioning.
- Preferred: experience with ASTM standards ride system design or safety-critical mechanical systems.
