About the Opportunity

We are recruiting an experienced Principal Electrical Engineer to take a leading role within a multidisciplinary building services consultancy based in Manchester. This position offers responsibility for technical delivery client engagement and leadership across a varied portfolio of projects in Manchester and the wider region.

The role combines hands-on technical input with strategic oversight commercial awareness and team development. You will work across sectors including commercial residential and mission-critical environments contributing to both project success and long-term team capability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day electrical engineering delivery across complex multi-disciplinary projects
• Develop electrical design concepts and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards

• Act as a key technical point of contact for clients and design teams

• Attend and lead client consultant and internal project meetings

• Produce and review technical reports specifications calculations and design packages
• Support fee management resource planning and project progress tracking alongside senior leadership

• Mentor and support apprentices graduates and early-career engineers

• Coordinate closely with internal teams and external consultants

• Ensure technical accuracy quality assurance and consistency across all deliverables

Requirements

• Extensive experience delivering electrical engineering solutions on complex building services projects
• Strong background in consultancy-based multi-disciplinary design environments

• Proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows

• Working knowledge of Electrical OM Dialux Relux and related design tools
• Excellent understanding of modern design coordination and project delivery processes
• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly

• High standard of written communication including technical reporting

• Proven ability to mentor guide and develop junior engineers

• Collaborative professional and commercially aware approach
